Two Odenwald girls discussing recipes for “Himmel & Erde” using pears from the tree. (Wikipedia article)
Look at all of the pears she gave us!
Aaaaark! Pieces of eight, pieces of eight. Captain coming aboard!
We can recommend pitch number A9 here.
We had some sad news today, so we went for a thoughtful walk in the forest where we bumped into a thoughtful stone.
This says “if you see someone who hasn’t got a smile then give them yours.”
The surprising things you can find out in the woods.
Windy goodbye to Edertal.
After Gerhild popped to the baker’s in her pyjamas to buy some cake for later on.
Stopped at Butzbach for lunch.
The sun was blazing in the Odenwald when we arrived. Just right for coffee and Edertal cake.

Follow the yellow beatle.
Even if you have to clamber now and again.
It’s quite steep here and there.
Quite a magical place this forest!
The baker drove his van onto our parking site and blew his horn. Gerhild jumped into her shoes and bought some fresh bread.
After breakfast we strolled up the road to see the dam which created the Edersee and which most Brits will know if you mention the Dam Busters or Barnes-Wallis and his bouncing bomb.
Nice camp site for the next few days. Campingplatz Am Linge.
Off we go
